PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 2 hours set up time before the start of a performance. These 2 hours include set-up, sound check, and warm-ups. This will help insure consistent quality with less stress on everyone.
  • Electrical outlets for the sound system.
  • Drinking water. Each performer must be provided with drinking water for every performance. Bottles are preferred.
  • The minimum amount of space required for a performance is about 20ft x 30ft. 20ft deep and 30ft wide. This is in consideration that our choreography requires a stage at least size of 18ft x 24ft and adequate room for our backdrop and changing area.
  • A maximum of three performances a day. This includes any activities in which the artists are being presented as PULSE, i.e. public meetings, group interviews with media etc.
  • In order to maintain a high standard of excellence PULSE will need time scheduled for both rehearsals and study sessions while in your community (if overnight program). As such PULSE will need rehearsal space. Rehearsal space and performance space can be in the same location.

WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD THE HOST GROUP PROVIDE PULSE?
  • A clear idea of what you hope to achieve from PULSE’s visit. What are your goals? To reach out to the youth in your community and encourage them serve, to be informed, to make a difference? To celebrate or commemorate a particular historical event?
  • Clear directions to the community that is going to be visited as well as directions to any planned performances that PULSE will be engaged in during its stay.
  • A schedule in advance of PULSE’s activities for the day(s) of the performance.

    HOW SHOULD ORGANIZATIONS BE APPROACHED TO BOOK APULSE PERFORMANCE?
    • Approach organizations for which your community would like to have PULSE perform. Consider approaching school principals, teachers, or organization leaders.
    • Send a member(s) of your community to represent, promote, and introduce PULSE in an organization or school.
    • After establishing a venue date, promote it by using PULSE brochure (we will provide) and any other means that your community decides is necessary.
    • Consult your local youth organizations about how they can support PULSE’s performance(s).
    • A contact person should be assigned to represent the host community or organization to ensure timely communication with PULSE.
    • PULSE is a not-for-profit organization and accepts charitable donations for its performances. The suggested amount is $250.00 per performance. PULSEasks for such donations in order to pay for its expenses and sustain its future undertakings.
