Arts & Minds

PULSE

aims to build a safe and healthy environment  where its participants study literature, poetry, movement, song, and music in order to learn about the human condition, build a vision for the future, and develop their own voices.

PULSE encourages its young participants to use the arts to create educational, moving and inspiring presentations.

In order to accomplish both critical tasks,
PULSE
operates on a seasonal basis during which three hour rehearsals and study sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis.

MINDS
Minds is what PULSE refers to as its study sessions where contemporary or classic artistic works are used to explore a variety of topics such as justice, hope, friendship, and struggle.  Teaching Artists guide the participants to use their creative and artistic imagination, to reflect on the issues, and propose corresponding artistic expressions to communicate the issues with the audience.

ARTS
Arts is what PULSE refers to as its rehearsals. PULSE rehearsals are divided into segments which will use drama, dance, poetry, music and song. The creative consultations which take place during the study sessions help guide the rehearsals and the selection of the appropriate artistic medium.

It is the combination of ARTS & MINDS which will lead to developing strong, confident, knowledgeable artists who can transform, inspire, and energize the audience with their moving presentations.

PULSE PRODUCTIONS
may include an array of possible presentations such as:
  • Full Length Plays
  • Short Dramatic Presentations
  • Musical Performances
  • Ensemble Performances which would include drama, dance, music, and song
